This more flexible working model, known as digital nomadism, allows people to work remotely, using technology and the internet, while traveling. Around 35 million people worldwide adopt this model, according to Fragomen's Global Migration Trends Report 2022. By 2035, it is estimated that 1 billion people will adopt this lifestyle.

Car becomes 'armored' against the new coronavirus

The adoption of the car as the main means of transport came to be seen by many Brazilians as another way to prevent the new coronavirus. For fear of contagion, many users left the bus and subway to get in the car.

Doctor Lívia Medeiros, who worked in two field hospitals in the Federal District, said she saw no other option. “In my profession, there are more risks if I take public transport or app, as I only work with [infected by] Covid-19. I can be a potential vector of transmission and pose danger to society.”

I am an independent journalist based in Brasília, Brasil, working as a freelance reporter for Estadão, one of the leading media outlets in Brazil. I also had one year of professional experience working at SBT, a big TV network in the country.
